Lou Tedrick is a human resources professional with expertise in organization development, learning and development, and employee relations. As the Verizon vice president of global learning and development, Lou is responsible for enterprise-wide learning and development, including Verizon’s learning strategy, leadership and executive development, upskilling/reskilling, product training, CS and sales training (all consumer and business channels ― employee and outsource vendors), customer training (business channel), systems/process/policy training, HR/legal and compliance training, network and IT technical training, tuition assistance, L&D technology, operations and analytics, and digital performance support. Lou manages a virtual team of over 850 learning professionals across the globe. Prior to Verizon, Lou was a management and organizational consultant with OhioHealth and held various HR positions with CompuServe.
Lou is a member of ATD and SHRM. She was recognized by Chief Learning Officer as the 2021 CLO of the Year. Under her leadership, Verizon has been recognized as a 2021 CLO Learning Elite organization, ranking No. 1 and as a 2022 CLO Learning Elite Winner’s Circle member. Verizon has also ranked in the ATD BEST for eight consecutive years and has been recognized for 12 consecutive years as a Training magazine Top 125 organization, ranking No. 1 in 2012 and 2013. Verizon was inducted into the Training Top 10 Hall of Fame in 2014, where it remains an active member. Her team has received numerous Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards and ROI Institute Awards.
Lou earned a Master of Labor and Human Resources, Master of Science and Bachelor of Science, all from The Ohio State University.
Her two young adult sons’ lifelong affinity for technology has inspired her personal passion for using innovative, commercial technologies for enterprise learning. She currently lives in New Jersey with her husband.
