John Jordan is Head of The Academy at Bank of America, where he leads a team dedicated to the success of every client-facing teammate and manager in the company’s Consumer & Small Business, Merrill and Private Bank lines of business. His team is responsible for delivering award-winning onboarding, coaching, and ongoing career development experiences to more than 40,000 employees who annually participate in Academy programs. These programs are designed to help teammates grow their careers as they develop the necessary skills to meet the diverse needs of Bank of America’s clients.
During his career at Bank of America, John has led regional, divisional, and national sales and operations executive positions. More recently, he held several functional leadership roles over Analytics, Client Experience, and Relationship Programs, including Preferred Rewards.
With an enthusiasm for employee engagement and volunteerism, John serves as an executive sponsor of the Charlotte chapter of the Parents and Caregivers Employee Network and the Charlotte chapter of Bank of America Community Volunteers. As an advocate for the special needs community, John is also a founding board member of The Next Step Clubhouse, a nonprofit that provides facilities and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Committed to a strong financial services industry, John serves on the board of directors of the Bank Administration Institute (BAI), and was the founding Chairman of the Consumer Bankers Association (CBA) Talent Management Committee.
John earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Auburn University.
