Rhoda Wang leads Learner Experience Design for support operations at Uber Technologies, where she collaborates with leaders and stakeholders to devise strategic and actionable training solutions that impact business goals. She established the framework in 2015 as a way to help the training organization meet the operational needs of a fast-paced, ever-changing and rapidly-scaling tech environment. With more than 11 years of experience in adult learning, Wang has been involved in various aspects of a learning organization, including — but not limited to — as a coordinator, facilitator, designer, program manager, strategist and leader. During this time, she has implemented training initiatives that has scaled to anywhere between 15 to more than 25,000 learners. She took a “break” from corporate learning and development in 2013 to pursue a master’s in education from Stanford University, specializing in learning, design and technology. Here, she was inspired by the universal nature of the design thinking and UX principles and immediately saw their relevance to both digital and nondigital training strategies. She now leverages these principles with those of adult learning and instructional design to drive the design, development and delivery of scalable, agile and learner-centered solutions.
